Rock'n Powerflow Weekend with Dustin May 4-6

May 4, 2012- Master’s Class with Dustin @ 5:30-7:15pm MYE

Join Dustin for flowing asana that will invigorate the body and spirit, and leave the mind feeling calm and content. You are encouraged to approach mastery as a path of learning and not as a destination of knowing.  Thus, all levels of students are invited to come and explore freedom in practice- beginner’s mind welcome.

May 5, 2012- Arm Balances Inside Out @ 12-2pm MYE

Arm balances are some of the most transformational, yet intimidating postures in the practice of yoga. Dustin will break down several ways to utilize props, modifications and preparations to safely integrate these poses into your practice. Through an approach that relies on humour and lightness, the afternoon will be sure to cultivate courage and confidence both on and off the mat.

May 5, 2012- Full Moon Flow @ 6:30-7:45pm MYE

Dustin will guide the class through a series of breath integrated movements and postures that emphasize grounding and focus. The class will conclude with pranayama (breathing practices), meditation and deep rest.

May 6, 2012- Rock ‘n Rocket @ 12-1:15pm MYE

Breath, movement and MUSIC. In tribute to his late teacher, Larry Schultz, this dynamic routine dubbed ‘The Rocket’ will be set to a backdrop of tunes from The Grateful Dead. Be ready to sweat and play, as this Ashtanga inspired routine challenges us to get light and lifted. All levels.

Pre-Natal Yoga/Birthing Prep Class

In this preregistered class, specifically tailored for mothers-to-be, we will be working through both asana (postures) and pranayama (breathing). Both will help to prepare the body and mind for the changes experienced during the 9 months leading up to and during the birthing process. The postures strengthen and ready the body for the physical transitions it will experience as well as for the birth day. The breathing will benefit the birthing experience itself as well as encouraging conscious relaxation and acceptance of all the transformations occurring within the body during pregnancy. You wouldn’t train for a marathon only by reading books about running so why train for one of the most important days of your life without active practice?

The Moksha Yoga program is an entirely unique hot yoga teacher training, comprising a one-month hot yoga intensive and a 10-month correspondence course.

High Standards - Moksha Yoga was founded not only to offer an exemplary hot yoga series in a conscious studio environment, but to offer the most thorough hot yoga teacher training available. We feel that we have met this goal and yet we continue to challenge ourselves further improve the program.

"Without a doubt the most comprehensive and inspiring teacher training that I have been a part of. It is an honor to continue my involvement with Moksha Yoga." -Frank Jude Boccio, Author "Mindfulness Yoga"
Leadership in Faculty - We know that on our own we can't represent a world of yoga knowledge in the varied yoga disciplines. For this reason we have asked for the help of an incredibly inspiring faculty comprised of authors, scholars, performers, international lecturers and senior yoga practitioners. To learn more about our faculty members click here.
The best thing I have ever done! This experience has changed me, by way of growth on a very deep level." Participant, 2006
Feedback - Feedback directed at the end of both the one-month intensive and the 10-month correspondence course we ask students to complete extensive feedback forms. The results are compiled, sent to faculty members, reviewed by the Moksha Yoga directors and from there we evolve.

Multi-Disciplinary - Most Moksha teachers think of Moksha hot yoga as their yoga home base. All our teacher trainees take one class per week in a different yoga style (Sivananda, Ashtanga, Iyengar) so that they can learn more about the vast world of yoga and relate to their future students who have practiced other forms of yoga. This multi-disciplinary approach also reflects our respect for all forms of yoga.

"I loved the experience, I learned lots, gained more confidence, learned to step out of my comfort zone." Participant, 2005

Group Size - We limit our teacher training program group to 60 practitioners, and we have never had less than 35. This size range allows for independence, diversity and the opportunity for a great network of support.

After the intensive training each participant can take part in a web based chat site to exchange ideas about yoga, check in and yes, make the odd out-of-towner dinner get-together!

These groups are still active since the very first Moksha Yoga teacher training in 2003, an example of the kind of san'ga or family that the training inspires.
